A Caringbah woman has won a Training Services NSW award for school-based apprentice or trainee of the year.
Elleyce Guerreiro was named the winner at the Southern and South Western Sydney Regional Training Awards held via Facebook Live last Thursday, June 25.
She is employed at LJ Hooker Caringbah and completed both her Certificate of Registration and Certificate III in Property Services at TAFE NSW Ultimo campus.
She was one of five regional winners announced last week and will now be in the running for the NSW Training Awards later this year.
Ms Guerreiro was honoured for her exceptional attention to detail relating to her personal presentation, presentation of client interactions, documents and social media advertising.
TAFE NSW regional general manager Vicky Mazzeo said the award was a great endorsement of Elleyce's talent as well as testament to the role of TAFE NSW.
"TAFE NSW plays a crucial role in ensuring we are delivering a skilled, capable workforce and Elleyce is an excellent example of how our training can help students achieve their career aspirations," she said
Elleyce described the award as an honour.
"By being granted this award, I set an example for those who want to take on a vocational pathway and get a head start in their career," she said.
"As I gain more experiences and qualifications, I hope to forge a successful career within the real estate industry and be known amongst my peers as someone who has exceptional knowledge and skills."
NSW Minister for Tertiary Education Geoff Lee said the number of awards that went to TAFE NSW students was a clear demonstration of the high-quality education and training it provides.
"TAFE NSW plays a critical role in shaping the careers of people across a range of important industries that are critical to the economy," he said.
"Elleyce is testament to the depth of talent and exciting career opportunities on offer through vocational education and training pathways."
The NSW Training Awards celebrate the excellence of apprentices, trainees and students undertaking vocational education and training.
