The Cronulla beaches wont be bragging about this week's wave quality but at least we have had some swell and decent conditions to surf in.
The banks are still poor with a big gutter running of the beach with only North Cronulla surfable, pushing everyone down onto a couple of average rip bowls.
Yesterday the surf was head high on the sets with clean winds until the afternoon but it still didn't set the world on fire-the best time to surf is the incoming tide as the rips start to work.
Today its dropped a bit but the winds are favorable and should be blowing nor-west all day so if you can pick a time you might catch a couple of nice ones.
The bad news is its going to drop to a 2ft low on Friday before a slight increase Saturday morning when a sou- west change gives it another kick pushing it back to the 4-6 ft mark in the late afternoon.
Sunday morning looks good with clean offshores and shoulder high waves for the start of a new week.

Surfing competition and sport for all ages in NSW can resume from 1 July 2020. An important part of planning for the impending return to competitive sport is ensuring clubs, participants and spectators comply with health guidelines.
Surfing NSW has issued a Boardriding Clubs COVID19 return to sport and safety plan that can be used to help seek approval from Council to recommence the 2020 Boardriders season and all the local Surfing Sutherland Shire clubs will have to adhere to strict social distancing and follow Council instruction.
State based Surfing competition is also returning with over 350 competitors calling Coffs Harbour home when the Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth kicks off from the 5th - 12th August 2020.
Unlike previous years, where all qualifiers for the Woolworths NSW Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth were determined by eight individual regional titles, the 2020 event will invite all junior competitors to enter in their respective age divisions.
The last two days of the event will comprise of the NSW School Surfing Titles.
Competitors will be vying for an NSW Junior Title and in turn, earn their position into the upcoming 2020 Australian Junior Surfing Titles, which will take place in Queensland at the end of the year.
Former competitors in the NSW Junior State Titles pres. by Ocean and Earth include current World Surf League Championship Tour surfers Owen, Mikey and Tyler Wright, Sally Fitzgibbons, Matt Wilkinson, Wade Carmichael and Connor O'Leary.
