Sylvania Heights Community and Youth Club will become more accessible through a $190,000 grant under the state government's ClubGrants program.
Funding for the upgrade is included in the latest round of the program, with more than $4 million awarded for 26 projects.
[The initial online report that the grant had been awarded to Sylvania Heights Community Hall, based on a government media release, was incorrect.]
"The refurbishment of the Sylvania Heights Community Hall building will improve accessibility for the elderly and people with disability," a government statement said.
"By providing lift access to the hall, a ramp and disability amenity to the lower level, this will attract more community groups and disability services providers.
"These upgrades will also lead to improvements to an existing bushfire Neighbourhood Safer Place infrastructure."
ClubGrants was established in 1998 to ensure registered clubs in NSW with profits over $1 million contribute financial or in-kind support to local community services, programs, and projects.
