Four new Probationary Constables have started duties with the St George Police Area Command, based in Kogarah.
Probationary Constables Lachlan Paradjik (21), Jessica Beale (27), Temeka Snelson (23) and Liam Bailey (25) were among 159 new probationary constables who joined Local Area Commands across NSW in June including six in Sutherland Shire.
The four Probationary Constables will be undertaking general duties within the St George Police Area Command, with the opportunity to gain exposure to specialist units throughout their 12-month probation period.
The probationary constables are four of 283 sworn police officers within the Command
The officers are the second cohort of probationary constables for 2020. There are another three classes scheduled to attest from the NSW Police Academy in the latter half of the year, with their deployment locations yet to be determined.
Their commanding officer, Acting Superintendent Paul Callaghan welcomed them to the command.
"These four new men and women are a welcomed addition to the command and our community," Mr Callaghan said.
"They come to St George after months of training, away from their families. They all come from different backgrounds and represent a good cross section of the community to which they will serve.
"I know they will do the command proud and make a difference in the community."
