Sylvania Heights Community and Youth Club is on a roll with state government grants.
The latest windfall is $190,000 in ClubGrants funding for an accessibility upgrade of the clubs building.
It is the club's third state government grant in a year.
In June this year, the club was awarded a $1.79 million grant from the Greater Sydney Sports Facility Fund to upgrade of playing fields and spectator facilities at Box Road Reserve.
In 2019, a $200,000 grant was awarded to upgrade 40-year-old change rooms and other amenities after the club gained the highest vote in the Miranda electorate in the My Community Project program
Miranda MP Eleni Petinos said the latest grant would improve usability of the club building for the elderly and people with a disability.
Improvements would include a lift, ramp and an accessible toilet on the lower level.
ClubGrants was established in 1998 to ensure registered clubs in NSW with profits over $1 million contribute financial or in-kind support to local community services, programs, and projects.
When the earlier $200,000 grant was announced, club president Trent Jordan said sponsorship and grants committee member Chris Plakias was the driving force behind obtaining the funding through submissions and engagement with various local and state sporting bodies.
"A tremendous amount of effort went into preparing our business case and we received support from Sutherland Shire Council and [sporting associations]".
