The Little Tennis Aces Program is a fun and rewarding modified tennis program for kids aged 2 - 9 years old, where they learn all about tennis through a game-based approach.
The program taught in St George and the Sutherland Shire teaches children the most foundational elements of tennis, through the use of mini nets, low compression balls, hoops, footwork ladders and cones to promote coordination and footwork.
Founders Eleni Stefanovski and Lejla Kucevic are passionate about passing on the guidance and mentoring they received to young tennis players and one day hope to see a world-ranked player come through the Little Tennis Aces program.
Stefanovski said after initially coaching their children's friends and neighbours it turned into kids asking for time on court, so they launched a formal program.
"We were overwhelmed when we saw an increase in the demand for the sport we are so passionate about and had always spoken about launching a program specially designed for preschoolers and primary school-aged children," she said.
"The surge in demand is also due to it being a great outdoor sport that lends itself to social distancing- we want to pass on the knowledge and passion we have for the game of tennis to the next generation."
Helping develop active kids are foundational for all sports and fun tennis classes are held at Carss park courts and Caringbah for preschoolers AM and primary children PM.
They are currently offering free trials and the timetable can be found on the website www.littletennisaces.com.au
