When 3Bridges Aboriginal Services was established just over two-years ago it had one staff member.
Since then it has grown to a service that has fifteen staff who deliver multiple programs to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of St George and Sutherland Shire.
3Bridges Aboriginal Services provide Support Coordination to NDIS participants and one-on-one support with identified workers.
They specialize in supporting those transitioning from correctional centres and community members with complex mental health issues.
3Bridges Aboriginal Services provide programs and support through complex case management to young people and their families.
The service's vision and strategy is to collaboratively design programs with local communities and to walk alongside them to deliver these programs.
They deliver this in both the school settings, through groups at Hurstville and on a one-to-one basis.
Funding through NSW Communities and Justice Targeted Early Intervention Program as well as Family and Community Services will enable them to broaden these programs to a larger area and more schools.
Support is also provided to community members that are experiencing or under the threat of homelessness.
Through partnerships with Evolve Housing and Bennelong Foundation they are supporting people through the current COVID-19 pandemic into more supported, permanent accommodation.
The service also provides cultural awareness training and cultural supervision to external organisations and corporate entities.
