When are we going to say enough is enough. Someone is going to get killed soon, and no-one seems to care. Drag racing occurring, yet again on the August 8, phone call made to the police and no action.
In fact, all I received was sarcasm on the other end of the phone. I asked if this was Rockdale Police Station, as that was the number that I googled, and was advised in an extremely sarcastic way that Rockdale had not been around for 20 years - who cares. They then advised that they would send a car down, approx two hours went by, still drag racing was occurring and no police presence in sight.
I have signed petitions, but they are not doing anything. What can be done?

Felling of trees a shame
Why the chain saw tree felling of trees, possibly overnight on August 5? The location was on council land, Brighton le Sands beach next to Bayside council ranger office and public toilets on the corner of little grand and grand parade (opposite shell service station - corner of Bruce st and grand parade Brighton le sands).
Several trees have been felled, and birds have lost their homes. Obviously, the trees were obstructing the Bayside view and the person who did this should be charged and jailed.

Georges River Council first in NSW to set new actions to tackle climate change.
Regarding your article of August 14.
What a fantastic achievement by our council.
I want to congratulate all personnel in council that contributed toward this NSW achievement.
As the Mayor has said, there is still very much more work to be done and council needs now to focus on promoting sustainable practices at a community level, as it is only with this collective support, that we will truly be able to realise our goals for a sustainable future.
I can't believe that there would be anyone in our society who would not fully support councils desire and initiatives to do everything they can in an attempt to provide the best possible environment for our children, our grandchildren and grandchildren's grandchildren.
Let us all get behind and support council in this endeavour.

Filthy Shopping Trolleys
I shop at Woolworths Riverwood Plaza and notice shoppers with their own trolley put it into the Woolworths trolley then proceed to shop. The streets of Riverwood /Peakhurst are littered with dog poo and debris. The wheels of these trolleys would have done many miles in this muck, yet owners, mostly wearing masks themselves, sanitise the handle of the Woolworths trolley, then place their purchases ground the germ-laden wheels of their own trolley.
I have not used a store trolley since noticing this disgusting habit but must admit I have saved money as I now only buy what I can carry.

Litter in the streets
Yes, our streets are filthy, but it is not up to the council to put out more bins, it is up to us to take our rubbish with us-Eazy peezy.

Unhappy with M5 tolls
I would just like to voice my concerns over the new M5 east tolls. Particularly the new tolls between King Georges Rd and Bexley Rd as well as the toll on the old M5 east tunnel. As you know both these sections of road were previously free and I'm sure paid for by taxpayers. I can't begin to imagine what sort of sneaky, underhanded and deceitful deals were done to have these put in place but it is totally unethical and wrong for everybody, but especially so for the local residents in the area. There was no notice or clarity around what happened and even after the tolls came into effect, I could not get any clear answers on which tolls were being applied and where.
Since the opening of the M8 tunnel and the introduction of the new tolls, the local roads in the area particularly Forest Rd and Bexley Rd, have been flooded with traffic which is understandably trying to avoid a toll road that was previously free. You can't begin to imagine the effect this is having in the area. My only hope is that it has the same impact on votes when the next election is due.
