Carlton South Public School students recently donated three iPads to St George Hospital to be used by patients in its children's ward.
The school's teacher librarian Selina Tilling said the school's captains and vice-captains recently headed to the hospital to present the iPads and handmade cards to St George Hospital staff.
"The children at our school did some fundraising and made cards for the children's ward of the hospital," she said.
"Our captains and vice captains visited the hospital to present the iPads to the staff."
The donation came about after the school's Student Representative Council (SRC) chose the hospital's children's ward as recipients of its community fundraising efforts.
The school held a "red" mufti day and managed to raise $1500 before asking St George Hospital how the money would best be spent.
They then decided to purchase iPads to help keep sick children occupied when they were in hospital.
Some of the handmade cards were to be distributed to patients while others thanked doctors and hospital staff for their care.
