Oatey's award-winning Jumbuck Gourmet Butchery is opening an outlet in Cronulla.
Butcher, Ray Wood worked in the meat industry for 12 years and opened his first shop Jumbuck Meats Gourmet Butchery in 2012 in Oatley, Sydney.
Since then Jumbuck Meats has thrived, winning multiple awards including Best Butchery seven times and Best Small Business in the St George area in 2018.
While 2020 was been a difficult year globally, Mr Wood noticed that the Oatley location did more than just sell meat to his customers.
He noted that the shop has inadvertently been by bringing some much needed slowing down time and some home-feels back to the kitchen table offering home deliveries five days per week.
"We saw a large jump in sales for cooking restaurant quality meals such as lamb shoulders and our popular brands such as Cape Grim and Bass Strait beef premium cuts," Mr Wood said.
"We saw families waiting outside for their parent to make the purchases and it was nice to see people take more interest in our recipes and oven-ready gourmet meals."
In mid-2020, the opportunity to open a second shop presented itself in the Cronulla area.
"It was an easy choice for us," Mr Wood said.
"It's a great place and the location is fantastic. We are excited to bring new job opportunities and our quality products to the Sutherland Shire."
Jumbuck Meats Gourmet Butchery Cronulla will be located out the front of the Supa IGA store at 1 Cronulla St, Cronulla and are coming to pay homage to the local community with three opening specials that will run for two weeks.
Jumbuck Meats Gourmet Butchery is known for their gourmet and creative products and on opening day this will not disappoint.
With an eye on the local market, they are adding a shire-themed sausages to its range of over 20 varieties.
These include the Sharkies Shire Special of Wagyu Beef, Red Wine and Basil; the Cronulla Royale with Beef, Tomato, Crushed Garlic and Rocket; and the Godfather Gallen with Beef, Pork, Chorizo, Olive and Fetta.
