As with many other big community events, Sutherland Shire Council's annual Senior's Christmas Concert will be different this year.
The concert will be shown online and a video copied on to a USB or disc for distribution to aged care facilities from the first week of December.
Mayor Steve Simpson said the health and wellbeing of seniors was at the forefront in planning.
"We can't bring the seniors to us for a concert, but we can take the concert to them," he said.
There will be performances by Engadine and Miranda Musical Societies and contributions of song and dance from Sylvania Heights Public School students.
Councillors will distribute baskets containing Christmas cake and the concert show to aged care facilities in their wards.
"We hope to be able to reach more residents with this year's festivities and come together in new ways as a resilient and connected community," Cr Simpson said.
