Todays 2 ft weak south swell is already smaller than was predicted which doesn't bode well for the coming days but the conditions are clean for the early before the east, nor east blows through.

The waves are also very weak and the banks are few and far between, although this week of small waves will almost totally rebuild the beachfront that was decimated by the earlier East Coast Lows that rumbled through.

The Prince St Wall is almost covered again with sand after the recent carnage and I took today's pics at a small bank at North Cronulla and at Wanda where it is a little bit bigger but not much better.

The forecast ahead doesn't see any significant change until Tuesday when a strong southerly blows through leaving us with 4-6ft waves.

Until then its the summer cycle of light south, strong nor-east winds and the resulting swell direction changes but it will still only sit around waist high so it might be time to pick up the fish or heaven forbid crack out the Mal!

Northern Beaches duo Cooper Chapman and Cedar Leigh-Jones have taken out the inaugural Port Macquarie Open - stop four on the 2020 Australian Open of Surfing series after a handful of action-packed heats in playful two-foot conditions at Town Beach.

Cedar Leigh-Jones from Avalon who won last weeks event at Cronulla claimed her second Australian Open of Surfing series event, claiming the Open Women's division.

Leigh-Jones finished the final with a decent 14.67 two-wave heat total to claim the win ahead of runner-up Molly Picklum (Shelly Beach, NSW) by a narrow 0.24 margin.

Cooper Chapman notched up an impressive victory in the Men's division thanks to a light-footed approach that allowed him to fly over the dead sections with ease and flow. Chapman linked together a chain of beautiful snaps to get the victory with an impressive 15.33 two-wave heat total to sneak ahead of fellow Narrabeen surfer Dylan Moffat.

"This feels unbelievable. It doesn't feel real to win two events in a row," said Cedar Leigh-Jones. "I knew it was going to be a tough final against Molly, my sister [Bohdi] and Rosie, so I had to really use priority to my advantage and make my waves count. Thankfully I was able to keep a lead over those guys and hold onto the win."

The World Championship Tour is just days away from a restart when the 2021 season kicks off December 4 at the Maui Pro presented by Roxy and on December 8 at the Billabong Pipe Masters presented by Hydro Flask.

It's been 10 months, 24 days, and one worldwide pandemic since the world's best surfers put on the jersey in a Championship Tour event, but at long last, the tour is just days away which will give us some great waves to watch seeing we can't go to Hawaii to get the sand between our toes.
