The Christmas season is already in full swing and plenty of homeowners across the St George and Sutherland Shire area have gone all out to celebrate.
Residents have decked the halls, houses and gardens with sparkling lights and displays ready to spread some festive cheer.
However this year residents will have to remain vigilant and ensure they stay Covid-safe.
A NSW Health spokeswoman said the department was supportive of people decorating their houses, including putting up festive lights, this Christmas.
"In recognition of the important role that Christmas celebrations play in the lives of many Australians, NSW Health is developing guidelines to help people enjoy parties and gatherings in homes and outside homes in a Covid-safe way," she said.
"To minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission, people should always stay home when unwell, ensure there is a 1.5 metre distance between people from different households, wear a face mask and wash your hands regularly with soap and water if you are attending an event where it is difficult to physically distance."
There are plenty of amazing places to check out Christmas lights across the district this year however residents must be aware of the rules regarding visitors to their home.
The NSW Health spokeswoman also provided advice for people who are holding or visiting Christmas light displays this year.
"Take hand sanitiser with you and consider viewing Christmas lights from the safety of your car," she said.
"Abide by these rules: For events at your home, the maximum number of visitors allowed is 20 people (includes adults, children and babies) and for events outside in a public area, the maximum number of persons allowed is 30 people."
