There is no doubt it has been a horror year for the entertainment industry, but internationally acclaimed tenor and Sutherland Shire local Mark Vincent is hoping to restore some Christmas spirit at an upcoming concert.

Vincent will present his popular Christmas concert at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters, on Sunday, December 20 at 2pm and 7.30pm.

The concert is held each year at Sutherland Entertainment Centre, but with the venue closed for refurbishment, Vincent did not want to let his loyal fans down, especially during a year already marred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, he will bring his new Christmas show to Doltone House to "end the year on a very positive and spirited high".

"I'm really looking forward to performing the Christmas concert this year at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters," he said.

"There's nothing like singing in your home town and one of my favourite venues."

Vincent, who began singing at 15, shot to fame thanks to a 2009 appearance on Australia's Got Talent with a rendition of the operatic classic, Nessun Dorma.

He ended up winning the season and a recording contract, going on to become one of Australia's most loved tenors.

He has released nine consecutive number one ARIA classical crossover albums.

His 2018 Christmas album, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, rose to 16th on the ARIA Australian album charts.

Vincent also appeared in the 2016 revival of My Fair Lady, directed by Dame Julie Andrews at the Sydney Opera House, and toured nationally to promote his 2017 album - A Tribute To Mario Lanza.

For his latest concert, fans can expect an intimate performance, with Vincent showcasing a rich repertoire of Christmas songs and arias.

While he is keeping the entire concert program under wraps, he has promised a couple of Christmas favourites.

"I'll do Holy Night, which I sing at midnight mass at my local church at Caringbah," he said.

"And I'll do The Holy City, which I do every year at Carols in the Domain.

"Otherwise, it is a surprise but it will include the songs that people who have followed me will know. And they will be able to sing along."

Christmas with Mark Vincent will be at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters, on Sunday, December 20, at 2pm and 7.30pm.
