Bayside Council's timed parking trial in all public car parks along Cook Park from Kyeemagh to Sans Souci, starts on Tuesday, December 1.
From this date, council parking officers will commence issuing infringement notices.
The trial will see three-hour timed parking from 8am to 10pm introduced in all beachside car parks to deal with the increased demand for parking over the summer months.
Bayside Council has installed signage informing the public of the changes and infringement notices will be issued from December 1.
The demand for parking along the foreshore is seasonal and peaks as the weather gets warmer resulting in insufficient parking.
The council anticipates a three-hour turn around gives everyone ample opportunity to the park and beach.
Timed parking will be rolled out in conjunction with Licence Plate Recognition Technology to make recording offenders safer for parking officers.
Results from this trial will be incorporated into Council's parking management plan for the entire area.
Residents will have an opportunity to comment when the Draft Parking Management Plan is placed on public exhibition.
