Danielle Farrugia and her daughter Zoe love the water.
They were out last weekend on their Jet-Ski as they were the previous weekend while maritime officers were monitoring the behaviour of water users.
Mrs Farrugia and Zoe were among those who were behaving responsibly and believe all water users should comply with water safety rules.
They happily complied with a request from officers for a licence check during operation 'Tow The Line' and believe a blitz on those who break the rules is necessary.
Mrs Farrugia said being properly licensed is essential for all water vehicle users.
"The morning of the 'Tow the Line' operation was spent with the family out on our boat anchored off Jibbon beach, " she said.
"Zoe requested to drive the Jet-Ski out off Cronulla Point, as Zoe forgot to bring her licence with her that morning I drove her back on the Jet-Ski for her to get it.
"On our return trip to the boat with Zoe now driving safely and her licence onboard we were approached by a Maritime Officer stating they were running some safety and Licence checks.
"He was friendly, chatted and quizzed Zoe on speed limits.
"I am a very proud mum that the officer acknowledging her age and appropriate usage of the Jet-Ski."
Mrs Farrugia said it is important to behave responsibly on the water.
"Responsible time spent on the water means respecting others and the environment," she said.
"You can still have a lot of fun out, as long as you follow the rules and be constantly mindful of your surroundings, you should always be aware of swimmers, snorkelers, divers, people fishing and other watercraft users.
"Speed limits are there for a reason! Be on the lookout for channel markers, speed signs and others at all times."
And what about those people who break the rules?
"It's only a matter of time before they'll get fined," Mrs Farrugia said
"My hope would be that is before anyone is injured or killed or anything gets damaged."
The proud mum and Jet-Ski rider reckons it is a small minority that gives riders a lousy reputation and believes more water patrols will result in safer waterways.
"As more and more boats and other watercraft are appearing on the waterways, there has been a stronger Police and Maritime presence, mostly targeting Jet-Skis for licence checks.
"They are certainly there to get those that are doing the wrong thing.
"Not all Jet-Ski riders are irresponsible.
"It's the misuse and disrespect from some riders that have given Jet-Ski's and riders a bad wrap."
