A Banksia player has an extra reason to celebrate New Year's Eve after discovering they won $1 million in last night's Wednesday Lotto draw.
However, how the region's newest millionaire plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The life-changing winning entry was purchased at Banksia Pharmacy, 25 Railway Street, Banksia.
Banksia Pharmacy manager Emile Tafech said he was thrilled one of his winners was entering 2021 as a millionaire.
"I couldn't believe it when I initially found out we sold a division one winning entry in Wednesday Lotto," he said.
"I was very excited for the winner and our outlet. It's a great win to conclude a tough year.
"All of our customers are ecstatic for us and eager to be the next division one winner.
"We would love to send our congratulations to the winner and hope it brings them much joy. What a fantastic way to start the New Year! The timing couldn't be better."
