Australia's Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation want to inspire kids with science these school holidays.
ANSTO says as the halfway point of the school holidays approaches fast and activities around the house are exhausted, they have a fun and educational solution for pressured parents.
Running until Wednesday 20 January, ANSTO hosts a series of fun, science-based workshops for bright young minds at Westfield Miranda.
Each day will feature a different science theme, including the use of 3D technologies, exploring space, the chemistry of cooking, Lego engineering and robots.
ANSTO's National Education and Engagement Manager Rod Dowler says the workshops are about having fun and igniting your child's curiosity in the world around them.
"Science is an amazing discipline and it underpins almost every aspect of our lives," Mr Dowler said.
"By encouraging kids to become interested in science, it's not only a great way to keep them busy and have fun, but you might also create a new interest that could lead to an exciting career in STEM."
"It's been a long Christmas and New Year period, so we've created these interactive workshops to entertain, educate, but also provide mum or dad with a short break to get out and do some shopping or enjoy time in the restaurant area at Westfield."
The workshops cost $25 per session and you can book up to four sessions using the NSW Government's Creative Kids voucher, making the activity free.
"If your child has a passion or interest in science and technology, I encourage you to go to our website to register and bring them down to Miranda Westfield for some great science fun," he said.
All children must register before attending via the ANSTO website.
