Motorcyclist caught allegedly 90km/h above speed limit at Kingsgrove

A man will face court after allegedly riding a motorcycle more than 90km/h over the speed limit at Kingsgrove yesterday.

About 12.10am yesterday, officers attached to the St George Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement operations on the M5 East Motorway, Kingsgrove, when they detected a Suzuki GSX-R 1000cc allegedly travelling at 177km/h in the sign posted 80km/h zone.

The male rider, aged 23, was stopped and spoken to by police before producing a Queensland driver's licence.

The man underwent a roadside breath and drug test which returned a negative result.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive at speed dangerous to the public, and exceeding the speed by more than 45km/h.

The Queensland man will appear at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday, February 23.

His interstate driving privileges were immediately suspended.
