Sydney FC take on the revitalised Central Coast Mariners on Friday night-7pm- back at their southern Sydney home -Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
The Mariners are one side who are on top of their game in Season 2020/21, sitting on six points from their opening three games, and Sydney Head Coach Steve Corica warned the Sky Blues will have to be at their best against a rejuvenated Central Coast outfit.
"They're doing well, and only conceded the one goal in three games, defensively they're working well as a team and we need to find ways to break them down.
"We've got our style of play and how we want to play. Whether they press us or drop deep and be nice and compact, you have to find ways around it to deliver good balls and combination play.
"We'll work on that today, we need to make sure we're set, prepare right and get ready for Friday." Corica said at training on Wednesday.
Sydney sit mid-table having endured a two-week gap between matches to start the season, due to Covid travel restrictions, with the Wanders and Macarthur FC having played four games to Sydney's two.
Ante Juric's women's squad sits outright top of the W-League ladder following a perfect start to the season with three win from three games.
Coach Corica believes you'll see a marked difference in on-field showings with an upcoming good run of games.
"It's been stop start at the moment but I'm pretty sure games are going to come thick and fast every three or four days, and that'll help.
"A bit of rotation in the squad also gives other players opportunities. The players want to play, the more games the better, the more cohesion you're going to see and the better we'll play."
