Sutherland Athletic Club kept sprinters in the spotlight, holding their Sunday Sutherland Sprint 100 on one of the hottest days of the year in the latest round of their Summer Track Series.
With a full timetable of events at the Sylvania Waters synthetic track the club ran 100,400,800 and 1500 metre races and also a long jump.
The 100m heats ran into two graded finals- A and B races, for the fastest qualifying competitors and organisers were more than happy with the 200 entries.
Commonwealth Games runner Larissa Pasternatsky who has supported all Sutherland Summer events took the women's sprint win over Stephanie Power in 11.76 and the men's 100 was won by Will Roberts in a 10.62.
Sutherland junior Emma Lee placed fifth in the women's A100m (12.14) She is part of the NSW Target Talent Program for Athletics NSW.

The heat played havoc with the starting gun but the hot tail wind didn't hurt times with Alicia Kerr beating Laura Roff in the opening 800m race with a 2.09.27.
In the mens and run in a 1.55.46, Richard Newell led from start to finish and held off Joseph Ryan to take a good win.
Wanda Beach runner Kai Hammond had a win in the men's 1500 in a 4.17 with Sutherlands Will Gair and Kyle McIntosh finishing two and three, and Bethany Scott took the women's title.
Ian Halpin, the NSW 400m Champion, won his race fresh off a sub four minute mile attempt last weekend.
Its been a good season for sprinters with Rohan Browning breaking the magic 10 second barrier in the 100,last week in Wollongong.
The Shire resident is the second Australian to run under 10 seconds electronically, but Browning and coach Andrew Murphy a three-time Olympic triple jumper,are not getting carried away with the time.
"I should have another ten years or more in the sport if I look after myself and I feel like I'm in the right hands with Murph." he said
