An artwork by a Yarrawarrah Public School student is now on display in a Japanese school as part of an art exchange program.
The Nagoya Sister City Art Exchange is an annual event which is open to NSW public school students from Kindergarten to year 12.
Yarrawarrah Public School's teacher/librarian Fay Prideaux said all NSW public schools were invited to submit works for possible inclusion.
"I submitted the artwork of a 2020 Kindergarten student Ivie Aird to the Nagoya Sister City Art competition run by the NSW Arts Unit," she said.
"From 155 entries, 80 were selected and Ivie's work was sent to Japan to feature in the exhibition."
Ms Prideaux said the exhibition was a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in international friendship and cultural exchange activities.
"We received an artwork from a Japanese student in exchange to be hung in our school," she said.
The Arts Unit of the NSW Department of Education said the exhibition featured outstanding artworks from NSW public schools and was an excellent showcase for its visual arts programs.
