Sutherland Shire Police are urging residents in Sutherland Shire, particularly the Sylvania Waters area, to lock and secure their vehicles and houses after a spate of thefts occurred between February 19 and 23.
The offences have occurred during night-time hours and in some cases, the external doors had not been locked, requiring minimal effort to commit these offences.
To avoid becoming a victim of this opportunistic crime, police urge all residents to secure their vehicles and ensure all external doors to residences are locked during the night time hours.
Regular police patrols will continue to be conducted within these areas to disrupt and identify offenders.
"As a resident, we encourage you to report all incidents of crime and activity of concern to police - this includes vandalism to property, anti-social activity and criminal offences," a police spokesperson said.
Any persons with information that may assist police with these investigations are urged to contact Sutherland Police Station or Crime Stoppers on https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/cs.aspx
