Photos have emerged of what is being dubbed a 'monster shark' caught during a fishing competition run by a Sutherland Shire game fishing club.
Photos emerged on social media today, which were attributed to the Carinbgah-based Port Hacking Game Fishing Club's Facebook page.
The photos were then shared by other Facebook users and media organisations.
The photos are of two different boats. It is not clear if the sharks were caught during the same competition.
The Port Hacking Game Fishing Club's Facebook page was not available this afternoon. A message said the link might be broken, or the page removed.
9News is reporting a group of fishermen taking part in a club competition landed the 394.5 kilogram giant shark during an inter-club fishing competition.
9News reported the shark was caught 16 nautical miles offshore from the Port Hacking, and was later taken to shore and weighed.
