Twenty-three schools in St George and Sutherland Shire will have facilities upgraded from funds allocated in the first round of the state government's $120 million Metro Renewal Program.
Miranda and Cronulla electorates have had more projects funded than any others in the region.
Project costs were not included in details provided by the Department of Education.
The government announced the program as part of its economic stimulus response to the coronavirus pandemic, with projects due to be undertaken in the next 18 months.
Schools were invited late last year to apply for renewal projects funding, with the government providing a co-contribution of between 50 to 80 per cent for those designated "high priority".
Successful applicants have to fund the remaining 20 to 50 per cent of the cost.
