Earlier
A hazardous surf warning has been issued for Sydney tomorrow.
The warning was issued today by the NSW Bureau of Meteorology.
It said surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating and swimming.
NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advises:
- People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
- Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
- Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
- Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
- Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.

It comes as a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall and damaging winds is in place for the Mid-North Coast and parts of the Hunter.
The bureau is warning of intense rain, possible life-threatening flooding and gusty conditions.
It is being caused by a low-pressure trough off the northern NSW coast, which is generating widespread and persistent rain.
The low pressure circulation embedded within the trough is likely to cause locally intense rain on the Mid-North Coast today before potentially moving south to Sydney tonight and during Saturday.
The exact position of this low will affect the areas of most intense rain and wind, and updates to this warning will be issued by the bureau as the system evolves.
A Flood Watch Warning is in place, with minor flooding predicted for the Georges and Woronora rivers.
