A motorist who took a gamble on driving across the flooded Audley Road at Audley Weir came off second best over the weekend.
Images shared to the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command Facebook page show the vehicle coming to a halt along the partially water logged roadway.
A second image then shows the vehicle inundated with water.
Police shared the message: "Don't drive through flood waters. You'll get wet when you walk out."
The images were shared by livetraffic.com. The first was captured on Saturday at 12.19pm. The second image was date stamped 5.32pm, by which time the vehicle was barely visible.
The vehicle was still there this morning.
According to a Live Traffic NSW update this morning, Audley Road is currently closed across the Audley Weir in the Royal National Park.
NSW Police Force opened the Public Information Inquiry Centre (PIIC) on Saturday to take calls from the public about the flood-affected areas in NSW.
The PIIC is open 24 hours a day until at least 5pm today, but this could be extended. Phone 1800 227 228.
