Speculation that the government is reviewing the way tolls are charged on Sydney motorways have been denied.
9 News reported the government had ordered "a deep dive review" to try and find a solution to complaints about the differing toll charges applied on motorways.
The report said one option being researched was basing all tolls on the kilometres travelled.
A spokeswoman for the Minister for Transport and Roads, Andrew Constance said, "There is currently no review by us, or Transport for NSW, looking into kilometre based tolls".
Mr Constance said in March there was a "massive legacy issue" with varying tolls on motorways, but warned renegotiating contracts with private operators would "trigger very, very significant claims against the taxpayer".
