In a revolutionary development for Australian grassroots rugby, Four'N Twenty will be partnering with NSW suburban Rugby Union (NSWSRU) to bring live streams and on-demand replays of games to fans across Australia and around the world.
Four'N Twenty announced the naming rights partnership last week, and it will enable NSWSRU to broadcast suburban games on NSW Rugby TV powered by Clutch throughout the 2021 season.
NSWSRU is one of the largest rugby unions in Australia, with 50 clubs playing in over 20 competitions across metropolitan Sydney.
For the first time, in Divisions One, Two and Three, all First Grade, Second Grade and Colts (Under 21's) matches will be recorded and streamed.
This move will positively impact the sport and its fans, taking Suburban Rugby to the largest audience in its 120-year history.
The three-year deal will see the renowned yellow and red Four'N Twenty logo on player jerseys, First Grade match footballs, on-ground signage at every game.
Four'N Twenty pies will also be available at the grounds for fans to enjoy while watching the games.
"Four'N Twenty is synonymous with sport, and we're excited to enhance the fan experience on game day, whether that be on the sidelines, in the stands, or at home," said Patties Foods CEO Paul Hitchcock.
"By broadcasting every local NSW Suburban Rugby Union match, we'll make sure nobody will have to miss watching their local club, no matter where in the world they are."
NSW Rugby Union CEO Paul Doorn is excited about the partnership and said there had never been a better time to be involved in Subbies Rugby with the integration of NSW Rugby TV.
"We are delighted to have proud partners, Four'N Twenty, as the official naming rights sponsor for the NSW Suburban Rugby Union," he said.
"Suburban Rugby is key to the development of the game and in a digital age, we have an opportunity to grow it further, with both Four'N Twenty's support and the exclusive coverage via NSW Rugby TV, powered by Clutch."
John Morrison, the Chairman of the NSWSRU, said the sponsorship was one of the biggest innovations for the union in decades.
"This sponsorship deal ... now allows us to broadcast games to an audience never reached before, raising the game's profile and allowing former players to watch their old clubs," he said.
"It is a game-changer for Subbies Rugby and it couldn't have been done without Four'N Twenty's support."
The 2021 Subbies Rugby season is underway, with round two just completed this past weekend.
