Known as one of the only truly inclusive sports around the world, Wheelchair Rugby League is not just a sport for people with disabilities, it allows athletes with disabilities to compete with and against able-bodied people.

NRL Wheelchair is pleased to announce its upcoming Come N Try day on June 6, 2021 at Menai Indoor Sports Centre, supported by the Cronulla Sharks, Sharks Have Heart and made possible by the Sutherland Shire Council Community Grants program.

The day aims to introduce and provide more opportunities for young people across Australia to play, be involved and grow the sport.

Brett Kimmorely, Wheelchair Rugby League Ambassador, invites all to come out on the day.

"That's okay if you're not in a wheelchair, you're still allowed to try it," he said. "I've tried it! Took my children out to an event and had a great fun active afternoon."

Wheelchair Rugby League aspires to provide an inclusive recreational activity, and to promote fun, fitness and self-development while fostering good sportsmanship in a safe and positive environment.

The emphasis is on boosting the participation, health and well-being of individuals, and their personal performance, social interaction and self-esteem.

The day is free to attend, for more info and to register visit tinyurl.com/5xa9rpd9.
