
Police have arrested eight teenagers in relation to stolen vehicles and other stealing offences across Sutherland Shire.
The most recent incident occurred today (Saturday) after a police patrol in Sylvania Waters about 1.30am came across an Audi A7 which had just been stolen from that suburb.
"A short pursuit was engaged in before police stopped the pursuit due to safety concerns," a statement by Sutherland Shire Police Area Command said.
"Pol-Air was able to assist and tracked the vehicle to Mount Druitt. Police arrested a 17 year old male and a 16 year old male.
"They were charged with Aggravated Break Enter & Steal and 2 x carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner. Further investigations are being undertaken in relation to this.
"Both were refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Children's Court today (Saturday)."
The statement said, earlier this week, five teenagers from Fairfield, Liverpool and Cabramatta were arrested relating to vehicles recently stolen from Heathcote.
The teenagers were aged between 14 and 17 and all were charged.
"Mt Druitt police have also charged a 14 year old male from Shalvey with 17 offences committed in various suburbs across Sydney. Some of those offences relate to a vehicle stolen from Port Hacking," the statement said.
