Buy a meal at your local club and help put them on the map by voting in the 2021 Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards.
A number of St George and Sutherland Shire clubs are involved in the competition, which is set to highlight the best club meals in NSW.
Celebrity chef and awards ambassador Manu Feildel visited the St George Motor Boat Club at Sans Souci on Monday, May 31 to taste the restaurant's competition dish.
"I had twice cooked lamb with cauliflower puree and white polenta cake with some peas, beautiful baby carrots and a nice sauce on top," Mr Feildel said.
"The lamb was nice and juicy, melting in your mouth and well-seasoned. The sauce on the top was fantastic. Twice cooked, twice as delicious!"
More than 150 clubs from around the state have cooked up a competition dish. Voting is open until June 21, and members and guests are encouraged to visit participating clubs, taste the Perfect Plate dish on offer and give it a score out of five by scanning the eatery's unique QR code or filling out a paper form.
Club Arncliffe has entered the competition with its Pla Sam Rod, which bar manager Michael Howard said was a "fantastic" dish.
"Come on down and try the plates out. We're a family friendly club, we don't have poker machines, so we rely on the food and beverages to make our money," Mr Howard said.
ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis said: "The quality and diversity of club food these days is quite extraordinary and the Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards will help shine a spotlight on the amazing cuisine on offer in our venues."
Other St George clubs involved in the competition include Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL Club with their Seafood Hotpot, St George Masonic Club with a South Coast Seared Crusted Blue Fin Tuna, and St George Rowing Club at Wolli Creek with Seared Scallops In The Shell.
Over in the Shire, entrants include Club on East with its Slow Braised Lamb Shanks; Bundeena Community and Services Club with the Pork Jowl, Corn And Scallops; Cronulla RSL with a dish of Salmon Ceviche, Soy Yuzu Dressing, Shaved Fennel, Pink Grapefruit, Shichimi; Sharks at Kareela presents Moroccan Lamb; and Diggers Miranda RSL is entering a Pistachio Crusted Lamb Rack.
