NSW Labor leader Chris Minns has sent a letter to Premier Gladys Berejiklian offering bipartisan support to fight against COVID-19.
Mr Minns declared when he took over the Labor leadership, he would "give the government credit where it was due and hold them to account if they need to do better."
Chris Minns's office released the letter to the Leader today.
The letter praised the job Gladys Berejiklian and Health Minister Brad Hazzard have done in managing the pandemic.
The Opposition Leader requested a briefing on the COVID-19 situation in NSW.
"As the new Leader of the Opposition, I want to join the fight against COVID-19 and I offer you my bipartisan support in this endeavour," Mr Minns said in the letter to the Premier.
"I believe there should be no politics in a pandemic. The people of NSW expect all elected representatives to work together to ensure their safety.
"With the emergence of more easily transmitted variants, it is clear the threat is far from over. That is why I would like to understand better the nature of the current threat and the progress of the State's vaccination program."
The Opposition Leader also gave his support to establish a federally funded and run quarantine facility in the State.
"This is a common-sense idea, and I would support any moves to get this facility up and running as soon as possible," he said.
