Bayside Council has prepared a draft masterplan to add recreation opportunities to the Muddy Creek Precinct - also known as Studdert Reserve - at Kyeemagh, and locals are invited to have their say before works begin.
Council hopes to create opportunities for walking and cycling, as well as access to the foreshore, and has added options for a playground, a cafe and community space, and associated infrastructure such as parking and lighting.
"The Muddy Creek Precinct has a rich landscape and is an important open space for the community," Council wrote on its Have Your Say website.
"The draft Masterplan proposes future activation of the waterfront with high-quality community buildings, extensive use of open space for passive recreation and dedicated walking and cycling connections."
In 2019 Council asked the community about its relationship with the area, as well as its thoughts on the vision statement for the works, and this together with site analysis and technical specifications were used to create the draft masterplan.
The draft masterplan is now on public exhibition and residents have until June 20 to provide feedback before the plan is presented to Council.
