Three Dragons players have been named for the Maroons and Blues as they prepare to face off in Game II of the 2021 State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, June 27.
Maroons coach Paul Green has shaken up his Queensland squad for the must win game.
He has made five changes to the side that was belted 50-6 by NSW in the series opener, including the addition of veteran St George Illawarra Hooker, Andrew McCollough.
Dragons utility, Ben Hunt, was again named after being brought into the Game I squad just days before the opener.
Green is also taking a massive gamble by selecting 18-year-old Warriors rookie Reece Walsh at fullback, the youngest Origin debutant since Ben Ikin in 1995.
Cowboys front-rower Francis Molo will also make his debut, while Canberra prop Josh Papalii returns to the side. Xavier Coates, Joe Ofahengaue, Jaydn Su'A were all axed, while Harry Grant (hamstring) and AJ Brimson (knee) were ruled out with injury.
McCullough will play his first Origin game in three years after getting the call-up, with Grant and Eels hooker Reed Mahoney both unavailable.
Walsh will start at fullback, with Brimson out, and Valentine Holmes will move to the wing, with Coates not selected.
The Broncos are now without a single player in the Queensland Origin side for the first time in history, while two players they released this year (Walsh and McCullough) are back in Maroon.
Papalii returns to the Maroons after serving a high tackle suspension and will add much-needed experience to a forward pack that was totally dominated by NSW in Origin I.
After a dominant performance form Tariq Sims for the NSW Blues in their Game I trouncing of Queensland, the Dragons prop has again been selected.
On Sunday, Sims will be looking to again be a solid force on the field, replicating his powerhouse performance in Townsville.
The highlight of the match from Sims in Game I was his bit of brilliance in the 26th minute, to unexpectedly set up the Blues third try of the match.
Off a short pass from Nathan Cleary and standing in the tackle of Dane Gagai, Sims, through a perfect cut out pass, right across the face of Mitchell and behind the Maroons, to To'o to score untouched in the corner.
Sims made 10 runs in Game I for a total of 87m, 30m of which came after contact.
He completed 28 tackles and missed one, leading the Game in tackle efficiency with 93.3 per cent.
NSW coach Brad Fittler named an extended 20-man squad for Sunday's clash, bringing in Roosters forward Angus Crichton, Storm lock Dale Finucane and Rabbitohs centre Campbell Graham.
Crichton, who missed the series opener through suspension, joined his Blues teammates in camp on Sunday.
Finucane returns to the Blues set-up after playing two of three games in last year's series.
Panthers forward Liam Martin retained his spot on the bench, following the withdrawal of Jake Trbojevic due to a hip pointer injury he had sustained.
The team is otherwise unchanged as the Blues gear up for the showdown at Suncorp.
