Bayside Council residents have been asked not to travel outside metropolitan Sydney for non-essential travel from 4pm today.
The directive was issued by NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard today in response to the worsening COVID-19 situation.
A raft of new restrictions came into effect at 4pm today, including the ban on Bayside residents leaving Sydney for all but non-essential travel. The ban also affects anyone who works in the Bayside local government area.
Residents of St George and Sutherland Shire who work in the City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West or Woollahra local government areas have also been told not to travel outside metropolitan Sydney unless it is essential, for at least the next seven days.
It comes as the number of COVID-19 cases linked to the Bondi-cluster rose to 31.
