Lockdown will not stop the volunteers at Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre reaching out to those in need.
While its doors have closed during lockdown restrictions, the centre's volunteers are operating its essential phone service to help the isolated and vulnerable.
"We want people to know that we are still here to listen and to connect to the community," KCAC chief executive officer Anne Farah-Hill said.
"We are operating out of the Community Centre to secure our clients any support if they need it, especially those who are anxious, on their own, those with disabilities or the frail aged.
"We have a skeleton staff of volunteers who they can call to help them.
"They can also contact us on our One Call Away number after hours if they need any assistance, someone to talk to or need to access essential supplies like bread or milk.
"And our community bus is there to make deliveries to their home.
"We are finding that this time around in lockdown a lot of people are very reluctant to get out of their homes and move around, even for shopping.
"Every time they hear of a spike in the number of COVID cases they hesitate in leaving home.
"We just want them to know that there is someone still here for them to talk to or to ask for assistance.
"We have a skeleton staff on hand to contact Monday to Thursday on 9150 7823.
"And on Fridays or after hours they can call our One Call Away service on 0402 44 3763."
