Commentator and St George Cricket club captain Trent Copeland is making the most of Australia's hopes in Tokyo.
Channel 7 hold the exclusive broadcast rights to the Tokyo Olympics and the coverage will be spread across the network's channels - 7, 7two and 7mate.
Copeland, the NSW fast bowling great, who also played three Tests for Australia, has established himself as one of sport commentary's rising stars on Seven's cricket coverage since 2018-19.
"I'm bursting with excitement, I am so lucky to be part of this amazing team," he said.
"The Olympics are special. These three weeks, we're not sportspeople, we're not accountants, we're Australian's and everyone just get behind our country."
St George Women's rugby league star Tiana Penitani will also be part of the commentary team.
Tiana captained Australia to the gold medal in Rugby Sevens at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, having a year earlier become the youngest player ever to represent Australia at a Rugby World Cup in the Sevens tournament in Russia.
In 2019, Tiana switched to rugby league and currently plays for the St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL Women's Premiership.
She will commentate on all the Rugby Sevens action in Tokyo.
The coverage will also be streamed via 7plus, with a 24/7 live stream and a dedicated Olympic channel.
Broadcasting icon Bruce McAvaney will return as host for his 11th Olympics, with some of Australia's greatest ever Olympians.
