Taren Point shoppers have helped raise $90,000 raised for Camp Quality to support children affected by cancer.
The shoppers participated in this year's Officeworks' Round Up to Make a Difference initiative.
The funds will to support Camp Quality services and programs that are created specifically to support children aged up to 15 years, who are dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone close like a brother, sister, mum or dad.
Camp Quality provides children and their families with fun experiences, trusted information, coping tools and a supportive community, in hospital, online, at school and away from it all on camps and at our retreats.
Officeworks' Round Up to Make a Difference initiative. gives customers the choice to round up their purchases in-store or donate online, with funds going directly to support Camp Quality.
The much-needed funds will provide the charity with the financial support to continue its work for the next year.
This year, due to the significant and ongoing impact of COVID-19, the focus of the initiative was to assist 17 organisations that work in two important areas: education and mental health in the community.
This year a record $1.41 million was raised, including a donation of $133,800 by Officeworks to 'round up' the totals for each organisation.
Camp Quality's Chief Executive Officer, Deborah Thomas, said, "It's hard to believe, but when kids go back to school after their cancer treatment, they are often more vulnerable to bullying, adding to the already heavy burden of stress on the kids and their families.
"Our Primary School Cancer Education Program helps in decreasing absenteeism as well as strengthening the wellbeing of all school kids facing cancer, whether it's their own diagnosis, or that of a sibling, parent or carer," she said.
"All funds raised by the Officeworks initiative will enable Camp Quality to continue to provide teachers with resources to reduce bullying and build a supportive school community for all school-aged children facing cancer."
