Australian grandmother and six-time Olympics veteran Mary Hanna looks set to miss the final of the equestrian dressage Grand Prix in Tokyo.
The 66-year-old, who along with table tennis great Jian Fang Lay become the first Australian women to contest six Games in Japan, finished sixth of nine with her horse Calanta in Saturday's group qualifiers.
The top two in each group progress to the final, as well as the next best six performers.
Hanna made a handful of minor errors that proved costly at Equestrian Park, her score of 67.981 per cent below her best and almost 10 points behind group leader, Britain's Charlotte Fry.
Compatriots Simone Pearce, riding Destano, and Kelly Layne (Samhitas) are still to compete in later groups.
