Second round of testing finds no COVID transmission at The Palms Aged Care, Kirrawee

Management provided an update on Monday morning.

"The South Western Sydney Local Health District informed us this morning that the 2nd round of testing of residents and staff for COVID-19 has shown negative results," the statement said.

"The testing follows one member of staff testing positive in a COVID-19 test 6 days ago. The person and her close contacts are now in isolation and off site and have each returned negative test results also.

"Testing of residents and staff will continue on a regular basis and the facility is undergoing regular deep cleaning and continues to be in full lockdown, with staff wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols they continue to care for the 65 residents onsite, all of whom are fully vaccinated.

"All staff members working onsite are vaccinated."
