The number of COVID-19 cases in the St George area has continued to grow significantly over the past week, with the number of active cases now at 95.
It comes as NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said last week she had "quite significant concern" about COVID-19 cases in Hurstville and Kogarah because of the lack of a "demonstrable link" between those infected who live in the area.
Speaking at a COVID-19 update last week, Dr Chant pointed to "missing links" in the chain of transmission of some cases in the area.
"We are finding unlinked cases ... and that means there are chains of transmission we are yet to track and yet to break," she said.
Georges River and Bayside local government areas have remained areas of concern for NSW Health as the COVID-19 Delta outbreak ravaging Sydney continues to worsen.
