Residents can now have their say about the proposed Webb Street, Riverwood commuter car park.
The car park is a joint initiative between the Federal and State Governments.
Three residential properties in Webb Street are in the process of being compulsory acquired to make way for the car park with negotiations still ongoing.
"I understand that the acquisition process can often be stressful and daunting, but I have been assured by Transport for NSW that every effort has been made to be in consistent communication with the individuals and families impacted," State Member for Oatley, Mark Coure said.
The multi-storey car park will include 140 car spaces, lift access, CCTV, lighting and wayfinding signage for safety and security, rooftop solar panels, electric vehicle charging spaces, and Opal card operated boom gates.
Mr Coure said the review of environmental factors outlines information about the project including concept design, possible impacts on local traffic and details on how these would be mitigated.
Federal Member of Banks, David Coleman said that parking congestion in Riverwood has been an issue for many years.
"We committed to funding a new commuter car park in Riverwood because action needed to be taken to address this issue," Mr Coleman said.
"Providing more parking spaces will give better access to the station for people from Riverwood, Peakhurst, and Lugarno. It will also help to reduce parking congestion on residential streets near Riverwood shops.
"I encourage local residents to review the plans, as the feedback provided will help to inform the design phase of the project."
In a joint statement, Mr Coure and Mr Coleman said that multiple locations were investigated with some options not progressing as they would create a significant walking distance for commuters, or they were unable to provide enough parking spaces to accommodate commuter demand.
They said one notable proposed design at 1 Webb Street did not progress as it overshadowed numerous residential properties and would create impacts to short-term parking during the construction process.
