Nearly half of the adult population in Sutherland Shire has had at least one COVID-19 jab and close to a quarter are fully vaccinated.
In the Sydney Inner South West statistical division, which includes St George, only about a third of adults have had a first dose and 16 per cent have had both.
The vaccination rates data for all of Australia was released by the federal government's Operation COVID Shield.
The figures up till August 1 include:
Sutherland Shire
- People aged 15 and over with at least one dose: 48.9 per cent
- People aged 15 and over fully vaccinated: 22.5 per cent
Inner South West
- People aged 15 and over with at least one dose: 33.5 per cent
- People aged 15 and over fully vaccinated: 16.1 per cent
The areas in Sydney with the highest fully vaccination rates are North Sydney and Hornsby (26.9 per cent), Baulkham Hills and Hawkesbury (25.5 per cent).
Sutherland Shire is sixth highest on the list.
The lowest vaccination rates areas in Sydney are South-west, where 14.6 per cent of adults are fully vaccinated, Inner South-west (16.1 per cent) and Parramatta (17.7 per cent).
