About two thirds of the residents in several postcode areas in Sutherland Shire have received their first COVID-19 vaccination dose, with many areas having a third of the population fully vaccinated.
The number of vaccinations being carried out is so great, the figures provided by NSW Health are changing quickly since the Leader first reported them early on Tuesday.
Sylvania and Kurnell postcode areas have the lowest rates in the shire.

The figures up till August 16:
- 2224 (Sylvania / Southgate / Kangaroo Pt): Received first dose 50-59%; fully vaccinated 20-29%
- 2225 (Caravan Head /Oyster Bay): Received first dose 70-79%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2226 (Bonnet Bay / Como / Jannali): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2227 (Gymea area): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2228 (Miranda area): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2229 (Caringbah area): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2230 (Cronulla / Bundeena): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2231 (Kurnell): Received first dose 50-59%; fully vaccinated 20-29%
- 2232 (Kareela / Sutherland / Woronora / Loftus): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2233 (Engadine / Heathcote / Waterfall): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
- 2234 (Menai area): Received first dose 60-69%; fully vaccinated 30-39%
The NSW Health website also identifies map locations where a confirmed COVID-19 case has visited while infectious in the previous 14 days, giving the address, date and time of exposure and health advice.
Two locations in the shire were listed as of August 16:
- Commonwealth Bank Engadine, Exposure date, Wednesday 4 August, 2:20pm to 3pm.
- Chemist Warehouse , Kingsway, Miranda. Exposure date Tuesday 3 August, 3:45pm to 4:10pm; Thursday 5 August, 7:40pm to 8pm.
The health advice in each case is to get tested immediately and self-isolate until you get a negative result.
As of August 15, there were 41 active cases in the shire.
