After another week of small waves a strong sou-westerly blew a new swell into Cronulla beaches yesterday, leaving us with some good 4-6 ft straight south direction lines to play with.
It picked up slowly but a light onshore got things going for the afternoon session yesterday before this mornings lumpy offshores cleaned things up a bit for the dawn patrollers.
There are some solid sets closing out up the beach and the water is still pretty cold, with a few left and right reforms on the inside making it interesting and spreading the crowd.
Off course there is some bad news with this swell only going to last until Thursday around lunchtime before dying off fast and leaving us with the all to familiar 1-2 ft weekend waves.
There are offshore winds all week so that's not going to be a problem, its the lack of swell size we will have to deal with.
There are still no banks on the North Cronulla stretch but from the Northern end of the Wall to Greenhills the beach has got some shape.
I took todays pics at Midway where a lot of surfing has been going on and a couple of pics showing how small it has been.

Aussies Stephanie Gilmore and Jack Robinson have won the Corona Open Mexico presented by Quiksilver, the seventh stop on the World Surf League 2021 Championship Tour.
After four good consecutive days of competition at Barra de la Cruz in Huatulco, Mexico the Australian pair claimed victory in the four-to-seven-foot waves, winning the last CT event of the regular 2021 season.
Gilmore earned her 32nd CT victory, continuing to break her own records, after taking down a competitive field, including World No. 1 and reigning four-time WSL Champion, Carissa Moore (HAW), in the Semifinal and World No. 2 Tatiana Weston-Webb (BRA) in the Quarterfinals.

Gilmore's win over Malia Manuel moves her up into fourth position heading into the Rip Curl WSL Finals, the one-day event in San Clemente to decide the 2021 World Champions.
Rookie Jack Robinson, earned his first CT event win, after defeating Deivid Silva (BRA) in the Final, Mateus Herdy (BRA) in the Semifinals, and Frederico Morais (PRT) in the Quarterfinals.
"I was trying to carry the energy when I came down here," said Robinson.
"When I'm in a certain zone I don't say too much and I was in that zone this week and just being able to rise above the level of surfing that everyone was at, I felt like I could do that in every heat."
