Mayor Joe Awada has welcomed the news thtat the 9pm to 5am curfew in place in Bayside as well as other local government areas across Sydney's west and south-west will be lifted tonight.

"I am very pleased that, following the Premier's meeting with myself and my fellow Mayors from the 12 LGAs of concern, the 9pm to 5am curfew in our LGA was removed today,'"Mayor Joe Awada said.

"This is good news for our residents.

"Since Bayside was named an area of concern I have taken an active role in presenting the case for our removal.

"I believe stricter lockdowns should be based on suburbs, not entire LGAs, and I will continue to argue for a fair and equitable approach in line with the NSW Government to Public Health Orders."

"Bayside is still an area of concern and all other restrictions, based on current health advice, remain in place

"Please continue to adhere to all Public Health Orders within Bayside."
