
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sutherland Shire has risen to 178 today.
The most recent Map of NSW COVID-19 case locations on the NSW Health website today, which is showing data for September 15, has seen the total number of cases jump by 12 since September 12.
The 2230 postcode, which includes Cronulla, Burraneer and Bundeena, now has the most active cases with 28, up from 20 last week.
It has taken over Caringbah, which has 27 active cases, a drop on the 32 reported last week.
Also with 27 active cases is the 2234 postcode, which includes Menai. That is one less than the 28 reported last week.
Other postcodes with case numbers in the 20s are 2233, which has 23 cases, up from 16, and 2232, which has 20 cases, an increase of three from last week.
A breakdown of the active cases by postcode is below:
- 2224 (Sylvania, Southgate, Kangaroo Point): eight (down from 13)
- 2225 (Caravan Head, Oyster Bay): three (down from five)
- 2226 (Bonnet Bay, Como, Jannali): 14 (up from eight)
- 2227 (Gymea area): 11 (down from 15)
- 2228 (Miranda area): 17 (up from 13)
- 2229 (Caringbah area): 27 (down from 32)
- 2230 (Cronulla, Bundeena): 28 (up from 20)
- 2231 (Kurnell): one (down from five)
- 2232 (Kareela, Sutherland, Woronora, Loftus): 17 (up from eight)
- 2233 (Engadine, Heathcote, Waterfall): 16 (down three)
- 2234 (Menai area): 28 (down two).
