G'day readers,
I am still on my staycation, so I will keep this week's wrap brief.
Let's start with some good news.
Merryn Porter tells us our hardworking paramedics were given a little boost this week when a sign popped up outside the Caringbah ambulance superstation. It is great to know the entire community appreciates our first responders.
Our social media lights up whenever we do any development yarns, and I get plenty of letters to the editor.
Murray Trembath reports residents are about to move into a new, luxury apartment complex opposite Cronulla beach, which results from the sale four years ago of three blocks of 1960s era flats. Our photographer Chris Lane gives you a sneak peek at the complex, including the penthouse, check out his pics.
Jim Gainsford tells us the 380,000 residents of Bayside and Georges River Council areas have been locked out from any share of the $5 billion WestInvest fund. The NSW government should explain why the chosen LGAs were selected, or why Bayside or Georges River (both also LGAs of concern), were excluded, what do you think?
Kayla Osborne reports a Sutherland Shire councillor wants to see cars in Cronulla Mall, and she is fighting to make it happen - despite opposition from fellow councillors, the Chamber of Commerce and shop owners. Is this a good idea or not? Let me know what you think.
Kayla also tells us why concerned residents surrounding Maris Park can breathe a sigh of relief. Some say this is a win for common sense. Some say it is more proof of cancel culture. Perhaps this issue is not as simple as taking sides and needs a more nuanced solution from all concerned. Let me know what you think.
That's it from me this week.
I'll be back in the seat full-time from next week.
Chat with you then.
I hope your day is full of love, laughter, music and news.
