Outdoor swimming pools at Sutherland Shire Council's leisure centres have reopened today, but only to those who can prove they have been fully vaccinated.
A number of other restrictions are also in place, including limited operating hours at two of the three centres.
You will not have to book your visit online, but the council has also warned you may have to wait, with strict rules on how many patrons can enter.
The NSW Government announced more than a week ago that outdoor pools across the state could reopen from today, September 27, provided councils have a stringent COVID safety plan in place, which has been approved by NSW Health.
Sutherland Shire Council operates swimming pools at its leisure centres in Sutherland, Caringbah and Engadine.
A council spokesman said: "With the recent easing of Public Health Order restrictions, Sutherland Shire Council Leisure Centre staff look forward to welcoming patrons back to a number of our outdoor pools.
"In accordance with the NSW Government Roadmap to Freedom, council is working diligently to safeguard the health and well-being of pool patrons and the wider community as we progressively reopen facilities.
"From Monday, September 27, Sutherland Leisure Centre will be open under normal operating hours, with Engadine and Caringbah operating under limited hours, with a scheduled closing time of 1pm each day.
"Patrons will not have to make a booking prior to attending any of our outdoor pools, however capacity will be limited to allow for appropriate social distancing, so patrons are asked to show patience as we work to cater to demand.
"All patrons aged over 16 years will be required to provide proof they have received two doses of a recognised COVID-19 vaccine before being granted entry to our leisure centres, with a digital or hard-copy of a COVID-19 digital certificate or their Immunisation History downloaded from the Medicare or MyGov websites the preferred methods we encourage patrons to provide this information."
The spokesman said admission to its leisure centres would be strictly limited to its outdoor pools, and other leisure centre facilities would not be available until Public Health Orders allow.
